Competition at Absolute Poker has gotten much softer since late last year when many of the online poker rooms left the U.S. market. Millions of online poker players have been funneled to a small number of rooms, much to the benefit of Absolute Poker. Once considered the toughest room to beat, players at Absolute Poker have found new prosperity. Tens of thousands of new players have signed up here, and the games are much looser again. Another contributing factor to the looseness of the games is that Absolute Poker has made clearing their big bonus much, much easier than before. The bonus used to be very difficult to clear, and many players were simply trying to put in as many break-even hours as possible. The new bonus isn't the grind it once was, and players are feeling more free to just play their game.

Traffic is good in all low - middle limits, and improving in high stakes action. Anything up to $5/$10 NL or $25/$50 Limit Hold'em games can be found at just about any time of day or night. Omaha & Hi/Lo generate enough traffic in the low-mid stakes levels to find games as well.

Guaranteed Tournaments

Absolute Poker offers several guaranteed tournaments every day, plus a $150,000 guaranteed tournament on Saturdays at 4:30 ET and a $60,000 guaranteed on Sundays at 8:00 ET. Both of these tournaments are deep-stacks with 5,000 starting chips, and 10 minute blind levels. Blinds levels are 10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 30/60, 40/80, 50/100, 60/120 and so on. Good structure allows better players to shine. Absolute Poker is a great poker room for tournament players.

Software

The graphics at Absolute Poker are quite good. Table buttons are easy to use, and most of the site looks/works very nicely. Choose from dozens of table skins, including our favorite which has the AP spokesmodel Serinda Swan smiling back at us.

Absolute Poker is on their own network & software system. Formerly known to have a few kinks in the system, Absolute has done a good job of working them out. They now have a good working system, with very few problems. System updates usually take 15 - 30 seconds on hi-speed internet connections, and come approximately once per week.
