| Rating the poker rooms for the best freeroll tournaments is pretty simple. Who has the most freerolls per day? Who pays out the most money? How many players get paid? This is another category where Pokerstars comes out ahead. They run so many good freerolls daily that it's hard to keep track of them all. Titan Poker is giving them a run for their money, and Full Tilt Poker has the most fun freerolls on the planet. Pokerstars may have won this category, but Full Tilt Poker gives the most creative prizes. They give away seats for major, live events such as the WSOP and the Aussie Millions. They also give away satellite tokens ($75 value), and seats to be on live poker T.V. shows like NBC's Poker After Dark with Shana Hiatt. MMmmmm. |

Ha ha ha ha - that's what we told the boss when he told us to write strategy tips for freeroll poker tournaments. Well, we're always up for a challenge, so here goes nothin'. The best advice we can give you for winning consistently in freeroll poker tournaments is to get extremely lucky every time you're in a hand. In case that doesn't work out for ya', try this next idea. Unless you have a monster starting hand, try not to get all your chips in the middle until you've seen a flop and made a big hand. The problem with freerolls is that if you move all-in pre-flop, you may get called by 3 or 4 players! Even pocket aces don't look too good when you're up against that kind of action. Play lots of pots when you can get in cheap, trying to flop a big hand that will get you paid off. We prefer playing suited connectors and any pair cheaply than big pairs for a lot of $ pre-flop. In satellites, players must accumulate huge chip stacks to withstand the barage of landmines. By playing deceptive hands, you give yourself the ability to get out of the hand cheaply post flop if you don't hit. On the other hand, you can win huge pots when the cards come down your way. In big buy-in events small ball works best. In freerolls, we think players ought to be going after the biggest stack they can get. Good luck soldier! |
Ton's
of freerolls, most have $500 - $2,000 prize pools, paid in cash or seats
for bigger tournaments. |
New
player freerolls: $50 - $100. Not as much $ as Stars, but fewer players.
Many other freerolls as well. |
Doyles
Room usually runs 8 freerolls/day, most are $200 & $500 each. Get
extra chips for ring game play. |
New
player freerolls: $100-$1,000. Country specific freerolls. Fewer plyrs/more
$ would rank higher. |
Same
network, freerolls, and review as Doyles Room. Doyles gets #5 because
of their Sup.System Promo. |
Bodog
Life runs a few freerolls per day, usually $500 or $1000. Most are free
to enter, with $2 rebuys/add-ons. |
Not
strong in freerolls. Have to win a freeroll to get into a freeroll,
yuck. Great room, awful freerolls. |
Chan
Poker has not started it's freeroll tournaments yet. The poker room
manager has told us December. |
Pretty
weak. Prizes are nothing exciting, and barely pay anyone. Ex: 1900 players,
3 get paid. |
