Unless you have a monster starting hand, try not to get all your chips in the middle until you've seen a flop and made a big hand. The problem with freerolls is that if you move all-in pre-flop, you may get called by 3 or 4 players! Even pocket aces don't look too good when you're up against that kind of action. Play lots of pots when you can get in cheap, trying to flop a big hand that will get you paid off. We prefer playing suited connectors and any pair cheaply than big pairs for a lot of $ pre-flop. In satellites, players must accumulate huge chip stacks to withstand the barage of landmines. By playing deceptive hands, you give yourself the ability to get out of the hand cheaply post flop if you don't hit. On the other hand, you can win huge pots when the cards come down your way.
