Ring games at Poker Host are extremely soft. The Microgaming Network has lot's of newbie players, with poor poker skills. Player / flop percentages are very high, and action is loose throughout the low-middle limits. High-stakes is a bit more solid, but not by much. Experienced players should do well here.

Tournaments are quite loose as well. Fish are everywhere, so be careful when you bluff. Exploit bad players by betting more than you might at other, tighter rooms. Players are more likely to pay you off when you make a huge hand, so don't be too afraid of scaring away your opponents - in general terms. Go after big pots when you have big hands. Keep smaller, made hands more often, but keep the pots small.

This network has some of the loosest cash games online. Player/flop percentages range in the 40-65% category. Part of that is due to the fact that many tables are 6 handed, some of it is due to a lack of skilled players. Good players can exploit these tables for a nice profit. Stakes are busy from the low-middle limits, and high stakes action is gradually improving.

The second screen however is very trick, take a look at our screenshot and see what we mean. to the right of the lobby screenshot, we point out some key features.

Changing graphics allow following the action very simple, and the purposeful sound effects enhance that even more. cards are big and clear, buttons are simple to use. No avatars.

Microgaming has built a nice poker software package. Disconnects are glitches are rare. With dozens of online poker rooms relying on this network, Microgaming couldn't survive if the software didn't work as well as it does. This is their business, and they do it well.

Loyalty Program

Earn PH Points for who knows what? After finding no information on the website or in the lobby, we talked with LiveChat support to get some info.. As it turns out, that part of their website is "not working" right now, but they're currently working on it. When asked for a ballpark idea of when this information would be posted, they replied "there is no time frame".

Poker Host Bonus Details

After signing up and making your first deposit, you must contact support@pokerhost.com and tell them how much bonus you want to go after. For example: You deposit $500 and want to get a full $500 bonus, you must tell them this because apparently they have to manually note this in your account. Your bonus will then be paid in one lump sum, once you've cleared it entirely. You must clear 10 qualifying hands per dollar in bonus. So, if you deposit $100, you will need to play 1,000 qualifying hands. A qualifying hand is based on the following requirements. Qualifying raked hands must be played at minimum $.25/.50 Pot Limit/No Limit or $1/$2 Fixed Limit tables. Then, the pot must be at least $5, and you must have contributed to the pot.

This means that players who play micro-limits will not have any qualifying hands, thus no bonus. If you play the required stakes, but play very tight and don't enter many pots, you will accumulate points slowly. If you play big enough stakes to hit the $5 pot often, and play a decent number of hands or multi-table, then this is a great bonus for you. If you do, you can sign up here - PokerHost.com.
