| Tomorrow, Full Tilt Poker will run the largest buy-in event in online poker history. At the time of the writing of this article, the $25,000 heads-up tournament already has 72 entrants and a top prize of....you ready for this?....$630,000! To put that into perspective, when Chris Ferguson won the 2007 NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship he won a paltry $500K. More info here. |
| July 1, 2008 - Scotty Nguyen Wins $50K HORSE at WSOP! |
| Benyamine won WSOP Event #37, the Omaha Hi/Lo Championship and $535K by beating Greg Jamison ($331K) heads-up. Jason Gray took home 3rd place and $209K. Other notables at the final table: Toto Leonidas finished in 4th ($171K) and Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow hung on for 5th ($138K). Okay, so Benyamine is rich, but we still don't know why Erica Shoenberg is with the guy. David, try a salad dude! |

Phil Ivey was the host of this huge tournament that saw JRShaffy take second ($325K) and IfHeDiesHeDies take third ($241K). | Don't try to pronounce it, his name is Alexander Kostritsyn. Whoever he is, he won the 2008 Aussie Millions, beating Erik Seidel heads-up to pocket $1,650,000. The 21 year old from Russia beat Seidel in a 2 hour long battle. Erik took home a juicy $1 million. |

| Fan favorite, Scotty Nguyen beat out a star-studded final table which included Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein, Huck Seed and Lyle Berman to pick up almost $2 million and the title of 'World Greatest Poker Player' (for the next year anyway). Scotty beat out online pro Michael DeMichele heads-up, who took home over $1.2 million. Lindgren finished 3rd and got $781K for his efforts. Good job baby! |
