BodogLife Poker has announced that they will be running what they're calling the Mini-SOP, which will run online poker tournaments of the same structure on the same days as the WSOP. Buy-ins will be 1% of the cost of the WSOP events and offer a ton of fun for those who can't make it or afford to play in the real deal. Dwarfs and midgets are signing up in droves. Tomorrow, Full Tilt Poker will run the largest buy-in event in online poker history. At the time of the writing of this article, the $25,000 heads-up tournament already has 72 entrants and a top prize of....you ready for this?....$630,000! To put that into perspective, when Chris Ferguson won the 2007 NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship he won a paltry $500K. More info here.

Benyamine won WSOP Event #37, the Omaha Hi/Lo Championship and $535K by beating Greg Jamison ($331K) heads-up. Jason Gray took home 3rd place and $209K. Other notables at the final table: Toto Leonidas finished in 4th ($171K) and Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow hung on for 5th ($138K). Okay, so Benyamine is rich, but we still don't know why Erica Shoenberg is with the guy. David, try a salad dude!

On February 17th, head down to Caesars Palace Las Vegas to win the one and only available seat to the NBC National Heads-Up Championship. Starting Feb. 1, players can play in $65 qualifiers to the Feb 17th $500 satellite, where one lucky player will win a seat into the tournament!

As the Full Tilt Poker FTOPS VIII events are coming to a close, Halfrek wins the $1.5 million guaranteed, $2,620 buy-in event. Phil Ivey was the host of this huge tournament that saw JRShaffy take second ($325K) and IfHeDiesHeDies take third ($241K). Don't try to pronounce it, his name is Alexander Kostritsyn. Whoever he is, he won the 2008 Aussie Millions, beating Erik Seidel heads-up to pocket $1,650,000. The 21 year old from Russia beat Seidel in a 2 hour long battle. Erik took home a juicy $1 million.

Fan favorite, Scotty Nguyen beat out a star-studded final table which included Erick Lindgren, Barry Greenstein, Huck Seed and Lyle Berman to pick up almost $2 million and the title of 'World Greatest Poker Player' (for the next year anyway). Scotty beat out online pro Michael DeMichele heads-up, who took home over $1.2 million. Lindgren finished 3rd and got $781K for his efforts. Good job baby!

The site looks to offer poker news, poker gossip and poker promotional information like all the rest of the sites, with a cool twist. RSSPoker.com gets all of their unique articles from different poker sites like ours from all over the world. So, if you want a wide variety of topics and opinion, this should be a cool site.
